Competitor AI visibility audit sheet
A team wants a first side-by-side read of its brand against two or three competitors before choosing a tracking tool.
The sheet
Copy one row per answer. The brand names below are fictional.
| Prompt | Engine | Run date | Brands mentioned | Domains cited | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best expense software for mid-size teams | Engine A | Week 1 | Corvex, Ledgerra | corvex.example, review-site.example | Corvex listed first |
| Best expense software for mid-size teams | Engine A | Week 1 | Ledgerra | ledgerra.example | |
| How to automate expense approvals | Engine B | Week 1 | Northlane, Corvex, Ledgerra | northlane.example | Three brands, no citations |
Reading the result
| Measure | How to calculate |
|---|---|
| Mention rate | Answers that mention the brand, divided by all recorded answers |
| Share of voice | Mentions of the brand, divided by all brand mentions across the sheet |
| Citation share | Cited sources on the brand's own domains, divided by all cited sources |
What the sheet cannot show
Repeated runs of one question are repetitions, not separate buyers, so a small sheet supports a direction, not a precise figure. Mention rate says nothing about how a brand is described. Results change between runs and between engines.
